Running High Point

How the job
works here.

Residential renovations, commercial builds, and municipal events all pull from the same yards. What changes in High Point is how quickly the truck reaches you, how we place it on local ground, and who signs what before it drops.

Step 01 · Delivery

How fast we can be there

Our Mebane yard runs High Point daily — about 45 minutes from our lot to any driveway in town. Same cutoff for renovation drops and construction schedules.

  • Order by 4 PM, we’re at your address the next day
  • Two yards on standby (Mebane + Smithfield) if one is slammed
  • Busy building season doesn’t push the schedule
  • Weekend delivery available on request

Step 02 · Placement

Making it fit your driveway

Old High Point driveways run narrow; newer subdivisions have room to spare. We size the equipment to your address before we drop.

  • Narrow older-neighborhood driveways: we size to 16 or 20 yards
  • Newer US-311 subdivisions: any size we offer will fit
  • Tree canopy or low wires: we confirm clearance first
  • Commercial sites with a loading dock: we deliver right to it

Step 03 · Paperwork

We handle the permits

Guilford County disposal paperwork rides on our credentials, not yours. If the town or your HOA needs anything, we tell you before you sign.

  • Guilford County disposal permits: on us
  • In your driveway: no town permit at all
  • Street or event drops: we tell you what’s needed
  • HOA time limits on US-311: checked before signing

Areas within High Point

Neighborhoods
on the route.

The truck routes are the same across High Point, but placement is a block-by-block conversation. Each neighborhood below carries the note that changes how we deliver into it.

Downtown Market DistrictShowroom buildings + Market
The dense cluster of showroom buildings that host the International Home Furnishings Market every spring and fall. Multi-story warehouse-scale structures with their own loading-dock access. We schedule drops and pickups around the Market calendar — the city permit office treats Market timing as common knowledge.
Washington Street Historic DistrictHistoric residential
The designated Washington Street Historic District — older homes on narrow lots, mature trees overhead. 16- and 20-yard dumpsters do most of the work, and we check overhead clearance before scheduling.
EmerywoodMid-century residential
Established mid-century neighborhood with 1940s-60s homes, mature trees, and standard driveways. Any size we offer fits most lots; whole-house teardowns pull the walking floor when needed.
Northgate / HPU areaCampus-adjacent residential
The residential area around High Point University. Student housing in some sections, residential renovations in others. Move-in and move-out weekends drive their own cycle for multi-unit cleanouts.
US-311 approachesNew-build residential
The newer subdivisions along the US-311 approaches into town. Wide driveways, active HOAs with written time limits — we pull your HOA covenants before delivery.
Thomas Built Buses areaManufacturing + commercial
The industrial zone around Thomas Built Buses on the south side, plus the broader furniture-manufacturing supply chain operations. Dock-side placement, 30-yard and 40-yard compactor work, and walking floor trailers for expansion phases.
Oak Hollow Lake areaResidential + recreation
The residential blocks around Oak Hollow Lake and the City Lake area. Standard driveway widths, mature landscaping. Event setups at Oak Hollow Festival Park trigger county health department rules on crowds past the standard thresholds.

Plus every subdivision, farm parcel, and residential street off I-74 and US-311 that isn’t named here.

Questions from High Point

The ones we get
every week here.

Can you work around the twice-yearly High Point Market calendar?

Yes — we build Market timing into the schedule up front for any downtown job. The spring Market runs in April and the fall Market runs in October, each roughly ten days, and street-side work in the Market District is constrained during both. We plan drop-off and pickup around those windows, and the City of High Point permit office treats Market timing as common knowledge too.

Can you deliver into the downtown Market District showroom buildings?

Yes — the Market District is a regular route for us, especially between Markets when the showrooms turn over tenants and gut-renovate. We route through building management on access and deliver to the dedicated loading docks on compactor and walking-floor-trailer jobs. On Market event weeks, the schedule tightens up and we work with the Market Authority's own logistics window.

Can you handle Thomas Built Buses construction or other furniture-industry manufacturing work?

Yes. Thomas Built Buses facility work and the broader furniture-manufacturing supply chain operations are regular commercial routes for us. 30-yard dumpsters and 40-yard compactors at the loading dock handle most volume; walking floor trailers come in on larger expansion phases. We coordinate with facility security on access and shift-schedule timing.

Do you work on High Point University campus facilities?

Yes. HPU campus facility renovations and residence hall turnovers are regular routes, including the move-in and move-out weekend cycles that generate multi-unit cleanouts. We coordinate through university facility services on access and stage additional dumpsters ahead of the biggest move weeks.

What about Washington Street Historic District renovations?

Yes — the Washington Street district is a regular residential route. The lots are narrow and the trees overhead are mature, so 16- and 20-yard dumpsters are the usual choice, and we check approach clearance before scheduling. Street drops along Washington Street pull a City of High Point permit, which we handle for you.

My project is next to I-74, US-311, or Business 85 — do I need a state DOT permit?

If the container ends up on state highway land, yes. I-74, US-311, US-29, and Business 85 are all state DOT roads through High Point. Placements next to them go through NCDOT rather than the City of High Point. We'll note which one applies on your estimate and handle the submission. Containers on your private driveway or on a city-maintained street don't need an NCDOT permit.

How soon can you have a dumpster in High Point?

If your order's in by 4 PM, the truck leaves our Mebane yard the next business morning — about a forty-five-minute drive to most High Point addresses via I-40 and I-85 Business. Same-day delivery is sometimes doable for early-morning orders; give us a call to check.

Do you cover the areas near High Point?

Yes. Jamestown, Greensboro, Thomasville, Archdale, Kernersville, Winston-Salem, and most of Guilford, Davidson, and Forsyth Counties all ship from the Mebane yard on the next-day cutoff. The Smithfield yard picks up when the route runs east.

Two books, one team

Residential and commercial
run different ways.

Same yards, same routes, same next-day cutoff. What changes is the paperwork, the placement, and the pace. Homeowners want a driveway drop and a scheduled pull; contractors want an on-call swap-out cycle. Here’s how each side is set up in High Point.
