Running Greensboro

How the job
works here.

Residential renovations, commercial builds, and municipal events all pull from the same yards. What changes in Greensboro is how quickly the truck reaches you, how we place it on local ground, and who signs what before it drops.

Step 01 · Delivery

How fast we can be there

Our Mebane yard runs Greensboro daily — about 25 minutes from our lot to any driveway in town. Same cutoff for renovation drops and construction schedules.

  • Order by 4 PM, we’re at your address the next day
  • Two yards on standby (Mebane + Smithfield) if one is slammed
  • Busy building season doesn’t push the schedule
  • Weekend delivery available on request

Step 02 · Placement

Making it fit your driveway

Old Greensboro driveways run narrow; newer subdivisions have room to spare. We size the equipment to your address before we drop.

  • Narrow older-neighborhood driveways: we size to 16 or 20 yards
  • Newer I-85 subdivisions: any size we offer will fit
  • Tree canopy or low wires: we confirm clearance first
  • Commercial sites with a loading dock: we deliver right to it

Step 03 · Paperwork

We handle the permits

Guilford County disposal paperwork rides on our credentials, not yours. If the town or your HOA needs anything, we tell you before you sign.

  • Guilford County disposal permits: on us
  • In your driveway: no town permit at all
  • Street or event drops: we tell you what’s needed
  • HOA time limits on I-85: checked before signing

Neighborhoods
on the route.

The truck routes are the same across Greensboro, but placement is a block-by-block conversation. Each neighborhood below carries the note that changes how we deliver into it.

Downtown GreensboroElm Street + Center City
The office-tower district along Elm Street and Center City Park. Multi-tenant renovations and tenant turnovers here route through building management; we deliver straight to loading docks on compactor jobs. Street drops downtown pull a City of Greensboro permit, which we handle on your behalf.
Fisher ParkHistoric district
One of Greensboro's largest designated historic districts, with 1900s-through-1920s homes on narrow lots. Renovations here go through the Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission on top of the standard building permit — we note that on your estimate. 16- and 20-yard dumpsters do most of the work.
WesterwoodHistoric district
Another designated historic district with similar 1900s-era housing stock and narrower lots. Same Historic Preservation Commission review requirement; same 16- and 20-yard sizing.
College HillHistoric district + campus adjacent
Historic district next to the UNC Greensboro campus. Older homes, student rentals in some sections. Historic Preservation Commission review applies in the designated portion.
Friendly Center + Four SeasonsRetail + commercial
The main retail and mixed-use areas of Greensboro. Tenant renovations and ongoing commercial service here — we deliver straight to the loading dock. Multi-tenant work routes through building management.
PTI Airport / Honda Aircraft areaManufacturing + aerospace
The Piedmont Triad International Airport commercial zone, which includes Honda Aircraft Company's headquarters. Multi-tenant commercial and facility construction work; we coordinate delivery around the campus security window.
Lake Jeanette + outer-ring subdivisionsNew-build residential
The newer subdivisions on the outer edges of Greensboro, including Lake Jeanette and the US-220 approach areas. Wide driveways, active HOAs with written time limits — we pull your HOA covenants before delivery.

Plus every subdivision, farm parcel, and residential street off I-40 and I-85 that isn’t named here.

Questions from Greensboro

The ones we get
every week here.

Do you handle Historic Preservation Commission review in Fisher Park, Westerwood, or Dunleath?

Yes — we note it on your estimate before you sign. Any renovation in a designated Greensboro historic district has to go through the Historic Preservation Commission on top of the standard building permit, and container placement on the street is part of what the Commission reviews. We tell you what that means for your rental timing before we deliver.

Can you work downtown — around the office towers or along Elm Street?

Yes. Downtown office tower work and Elm Street tenant jobs are a regular route for us. We route through building management on access and schedule the drop-off window around tenant deliveries and other building traffic. Street drops downtown pull a City of Greensboro permit, which we handle on your behalf.

What about events at the Greensboro Coliseum, downtown festivals, or NC A&T home games?

Yes. All of those draw crowds where Guilford County health department rules require ADA units and separate handwashing stations near every food line. Event inspection runs tight in Greensboro because the crowd sizes are larger than in most central NC towns — we size the unit count accordingly and coordinate drop-off with venue staff.

Do you serve campus work at UNC Greensboro, NC A&T, or Guilford College?

Yes. All three campuses run facility renovations, residence hall turnovers, and the move-in and move-out weekend cycles that drive multi-unit cleanouts. We coordinate access through university facility services and stage additional dumpsters ahead of the biggest move-out weeks. Walking floor trailers come in on the larger building clearouts.

Can you deliver at Honda Aircraft, Volvo Trucks, or the PTI Airport commercial zone?

Yes. The PTI Airport commercial zone around Honda Aircraft and the Volvo Trucks operations are regular commercial routes for us. We coordinate the drop-off window with each facility's own security team and schedule delivery around their shift calendars. 30-yard dumpsters and 40-yard compactors handle most of the renovation volume; walking floor trailers come in for the larger expansion phases.

My project is next to I-40, I-85, I-73, US-29, or US-220 — do I need a state DOT permit?

If the container ends up on state highway land, yes. I-40, I-85, I-73, US-29 (Battleground Avenue), and US-220 are all state DOT roads. Placements next to them go through NCDOT rather than the City of Greensboro. We'll note which one applies on your estimate and handle the paperwork. Containers on your private driveway or on a city street don't need an NCDOT permit.

How soon can you have a dumpster in Greensboro?

If your order's in by 4 PM, the truck leaves our Mebane yard the next business morning — about a twenty-five-minute drive to most Greensboro addresses via I-40 and I-85. Same-day delivery is sometimes doable for early-morning orders; give us a call to check.

Do you cover the areas near Greensboro?

Yes. Gibsonville, Burlington, High Point, Elon, Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Kernersville, Winston-Salem, and most of Guilford, Alamance, and Forsyth Counties all ship from the Mebane yard on the next-day cutoff. The Smithfield yard picks up when the route runs east.

Two books, one team

Residential and commercial
run different ways.

Same yards, same routes, same next-day cutoff. What changes is the paperwork, the placement, and the pace. Homeowners want a driveway drop and a scheduled pull; contractors want an on-call swap-out cycle. Here’s how each side is set up in Greensboro.
