How the town is built
Gibsonville is overwhelmingly residential, with a tight historic core and a growing subdivision belt around it. The downtown Main Street area carries older 1900s-1930s homes on narrow lots where 16- and 20-yard dumpsters fit, plus the former mill-village blocks nearby with similar scale. Newer subdivisions off NC-61 and the US-70 approaches have gone up since the mid-2000s with wide driveways and HOA covenants that run lighter than the Triangle master-planned communities. The commercial side is quiet — a small-shop strip on Main Street and some US-70 service businesses handle most of it, with no office campuses, no industrial sites of note, and no large retail destination.
